Why this exists

Most people are told to “get into tech,” but not shown what the work actually looks like.

These sessions are built for people who are curious about IT but need a clearer, more realistic path. Instead of vague advice, we focus on how your current experience can translate into IT, what roles make sense to target first, and what modern IT teams actually do day to day.

The goal is not to sell you a fantasy. The goal is to help you understand the real skills, tools, workflows, and decisions behind stable, flexible IT careers.

About me

I know what it feels like to figure this path out without a clear roadmap.

I’m an IT professional with around 7 years of experience across technical support, IT operations, systems administration, identity and access management, device management, onboarding/offboarding, automation, service desk workflows, and internal IT documentation.

I also know what it feels like to try to figure this path out without a clear roadmap. A lot of what I learned came from trial and error, asking questions, making mistakes, and slowly understanding how IT teams actually work.

Over time, people started asking me how I got into IT, how I built a remote-friendly career, and how I was able to create more flexibility in my life through tech. I realized a lot of people are interested in IT, but they do not always know what the work actually looks like or how their current experience can translate.

I created Modern IT Pathways to make that clearer. My goal is to give practical, realistic guidance for people who want to break into IT without pretending there is one perfect path or one magic certification that guarantees success.

Accessibility & community pricing

Support should be accessible, but the work should also be sustainable.

I believe career support should be accessible, especially for people trying to break into tech from nontraditional backgrounds. Standard pricing helps make this work sustainable, but I also reserve a limited number of community-rate and pay-what-you-can spots.

If cost is a barrier, select that option on the intake form. No long explanation required. I will do my best to work with you based on availability.

Standard rate

For people who can pay the listed price and want to support the sustainability of this work.

Community rate

For people who can pay something, but need a lower rate to make the session realistic.

Pay what you can

Limited monthly spots for people who would benefit from support but cannot afford the standard or community rate.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need IT experience already?

No. These sessions are designed for beginners, career changers, and people with adjacent experience in customer service, support, retail, admin, operations, or other nontraditional backgrounds.

Will this guarantee me a job?

No. These sessions do not guarantee a job. The goal is to give you a clearer path, stronger positioning, practical exposure, and a better understanding of what to focus on next.

Why do I need to fill out the intake form first?

The intake form helps me understand your goals, prepare for the session, and send the right next step. If you are not sure which session fits, the session finder quiz can help you choose before you submit intake.

Is the session finder quiz a formal assessment?

No. It is a quick decision guide. It suggests a starting point based on your answers, but you can still choose whichever option feels best for your goals, budget, and timing.

Is the free fit call a coaching session?

No. The free 15-minute fit call is only meant to help you decide whether this support makes sense and which session would be the best fit. The actual planning, roadmap, tool walkthrough, and follow-up doc happen in the paid sessions.

Is this a full bootcamp?

No. This is a 1:1 starter session, not a full multi-week bootcamp. It is meant to help you understand modern IT work, practice common scenarios, and decide what to focus on next.

How do community-rate or pay-what-you-can spots work?

If cost is a barrier, select that option on the intake form and share what feels realistic for you. These spots are limited so the service can remain both accessible and sustainable.
